I decided on a silky bow from Botas Accessories that complemented the fabric from the gown and jacket and gave them a playful edge.

With a bow along with a pony for that hair, it had been important the makeup was sexy and 'grown up'.

Glowing skin is my signature look, which was married to having a darker, smokier eye along with a beautiful berry lip from Giorgio Armani.

"There were no modern religious aspects to the ceremony although, in addition to the vows we wrote, our celebrant did a handfasting. We wrote our 'formal vows' together, choosing promises we knew we wish to make to one another. We then each wrote personal vows towards the other that didn't possess a particular structure."

The couple were engaged in July 2019 and originally planned to marry in July 2021, but needed to push back their day by 8 weeks because of the Covid pandemic.

"We met on the Bumble date whenever we were both residing in Calgary, Canada. After a year of dating, we moved back to the UK and also got engaged in July 2019. We had an authentic date of 9 July 2021, which we needed to abandon. The only option we'd with our venue was for September instead. We did feel tolerant of people having to check negative to fly into the country, so which was added reassurance."

Lorraine And Iain's Orkney Islands' Wedding

Family and friends helped to provide these newlyweds with their perfect big day on the little island of Stronsay. Lorraine and Iain met when she gave him a good start home after his 21st bus tour. "We met up again soon after that… and not looked back!" she says.

Iain proposed on Christmas Eve in 2018. "He had my ring wrapped up and disguised in Christmas paper along with a gift bag," says Lorraine. "I thought I was opening an earlier Christmas present, along with a very special one it had been too! He picked the ring himself, and it had been a perfect size. I was in complete shock. We had been together for nine years, so I wasn't sure it had been ever going to take place!"

The couple married on Stronsay, the little island where Lorraine was raised, around the 10th of July 2021. "Despite needing to postpone our original date in 2020, because of Covid, we'd the most amazing day," she says. "We were encompassed by our closest family and friends, and it had been very special."

THE BIG DAY

"We got ready inside my folk's house, where I was raised, encompassed by all the children," says Lorraine. "My cousin laid on the fabulous breakfast for all of us. Then my father drove me towards the church inside a tractor! When he walked me down the aisle I'm unsure which one person was most nervous! It would be a great day, dry and never too windy or bright. We got our photos taken inside a lovely garden around the island, then went towards the community center for the reception."

TREASURED MEMORIES

The couple incorporated several themes into their big day. "Sadly, I was not able to share our memories of having several close relatives who're no longer around," says Lorraine. "My granny loved to complete cross stitch and my grandad did tapestry. So I desired to have embroidery hoops within our decorations, to remind me of these. Iain's sister embroidered our table names onto the material, which went within the hoops. His cousin also made stands to keep them."

"Yellow was my granny's favorite color, hence the sunflowers during my bouquet," says Lorraine. "Our favors were badges along with a donation to two charities near to our hearts, the Alzheimers Society and Macmillan Cancer Support. Iain's dear granny was identified as having Alzheimer's a long time ago, and my great auntie too, just this past year. Macmillan was excellent support too when my grandad was ill. We also used old bottles that Iain's dad had collected included in our reception hall decor. Sadly, he's no more with us, so it had been very special for all of us both to make use of something of his on our big day."

AMAZING SUPPLIERS

"Lauren and Keri did our constitute and hair," says Lorraine. "They made us feel so calm that morning, they were much like the part of the family. As was Leona, our photographer, who had been fab. I didn't realize she was taking photos half of the time! Ingie Breck did our flowers, which would be a tough job once we weren't able to meet as much as discuss plans. We made it happen all over FaceTime. But she didn't disappoint, our flowers were perfect."

"Our cake is made by my father's first cousin and also the catering ended by another cousin. It was extremely important and special that I can have these folk involved with such major areas of our big day. After we cut the wedding cake, we'd a gorgeous meal and speeches, then there is dancing until the little hours," says Lorraine. "The Stronsay Band helped us dance the nighttime away and it had been fab music, of course!"

Today it's a pleasure to determine the simple, clean lines of FeelTimes gowns grace this straightforward, garden wedding. On 31 July 2021 Nush and Hugo wed inside a Church of England ceremony at their local church in Essex, then an intimate marquee reception in Nush's parents' garden.

The couple planned their day during the lockdown, always intending that it is simple and personal. That didn't prevent Nush from selecting a show-stopping gown though, going to Surrey where she selected her dramatic and modern gown, putting it on with a hand-embroidered family veil.

The couple were engaged on New Year's Eve 2020 and planned their day in only seven months.

"At the time of our engagement, I was in the middle of the 3rd lockdown. We would never know when restrictions could be lifted and for that reason decided that people would plan a little wedding for 2021, with only our families."

"My grandmother is extremely creative. The veil was handmade by her for my mother on my small mother's big day when she married my dad, therefore it was very special to put on it inside my wedding."

For styling, Hugo and Nush were aided by Katie Youngman of Mr. and Mrs. Wedding Supplies.

"We wanted the style from the day to be easy and intimate. The reception was inside a marquee within the garden, inside my family home where I was raised. We decided on a wooden, rustic, long table for the meal, having a natural table runner garland comprised of greenery, including eucalyptus."

"We had white drapery and much more foliage draped in the ceiling with white paper lanterns hanging intermittently. We had plenty of warm fairy lights within the garden and the boxed hedges so that within the evening it was all lit up."

Before the marquee garden reception, the newlyweds spent time using their photographer, of these darling couple portrait shots within the beautiful Essex village and countryside.

"It was the statement sleeves combined with a modern, classic dress. The material was beautiful also it felt so 70s chic. I also added extra sequin detail for added sparkle."

Joanna's veil was her 'something borrowed, loaned by her sister, pinned into her hair that was styled into relaxed, boho waves by The Parlour.

I adore the feel of bridesmaids in white, which girls' gowns were from Warehouse. The flower girls also wore full white dresses, these from Mango, together with delicate floral crowns. The pageboys were dressed up in outfits from FeelTimes.

Sid and Joanna met as teenagers and were raised together.

"We were engaged in Florence, Italy which was special. It is one of the most amazing cities in the world and our favourite country to go to. We'd been engaged for four years whenever we got married. We delayed while renovating our home and then Covid delayed it further."

The marriage ceremony was held outside using the dinner and evening party hosted inside a clear-sided marquee from Marquee Solutions.
